Last week, Andy went out to mow the lawn with the help of his baby girl. The rest of us, and our big dog, watched from the back step. Because, you know, lawn-mowing is very interesting stuff when you're little.
After a minute or two of mowing, he motioned for me to come over by the playhouse. I figured there was a dead animal and approached reluctantly. But it was NOT a dead animal. It was a super cute nest of baby bunnies! We were so glad he was paying attention and didn't run them over with the mower... Anyway, I put the wolf in the house before he figured out that the kids' excitement was essentially caused by a carnivore's dream buffet.
The bunnies' eyes weren't even open yet. They were really, really cute.
The next day, they were hopping around inside the playhouse a bit, but staying really close to their nest. Eyes still not totally open.
Another day later they were hopping around in the backyard and CLIMBING INTO THE KIDS' LAPS. Oh, the cuteness... At this point, I had to go do a bunny check every time I let Harrison outside. And then I made him come in as soon as he was done pottying. Poor guy.
We spent a hot morning at a nearby wading pool with friends, where Marion enjoyed her first swimming experience! Everyone had fun playing with their friends and splashing, but Simon definitely got the most enjoyment from it. He didn't stop moving the entire time we were there. I barely got a picture of him!

Leonard's 5th birthday was Saturday! He was very happy with his new trains:
For his birthday, Leonard chose to ride the East Troy Electric Railroad. He must have really liked it last year! He asked for a picnic lunch and to invite his friend Ben along.
After we picnicked, we boarded the train. The conductor let all the kids blow the train whistle and try on his Very Cool Hat.
We all explored the little train museum and had ice cream at the halfway point train station.
The birthday treat he requested was turtle cupcakes. He liked that they were made of candy because he could help me put them together.
Happy birthday, Leonard!!!
Yesterday we went to the zoo to get some sunshine. Had I known it was going to be insanely humid, we would have made a different choice. But it was fun nonetheless. The kids' favorite part was the new playground they recently constructed in the center.
We also had a few playdates, did lots of school work, planted shrubs and went on a nice evening walk/bike ride. It was a full week!
