On November 1st, we got to spend the day at the park! We were still appreciating the unseasonably warm weather at that point.
Then we got to see the first picture of our new baby, whom we thought looked a lot like a gummy bear.
The kids helped make cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving:
We went to see The Good Dinosaur on Black Friday:
Harrison spent a lot of time sleeping by our Christmas tree.
The little kids adopted this space as their new fort. There's a lot of mischief-making in here. They like to block it off with blankets and pillows so you don't know they're there except for the giggling.
Simon helped Marion color all over herself with inexpensive (read: not very washable) markers...
It eventually came off. It took about 3 baths, so 6 days.
On December 12, we took the train to the Christkindl market in Chicago with Grandpa and Great-Grandma. Nikki, Matt and Katie took a different train from Michigan and met us there.
Marion posed with Aunt Nikki in front of the Macy's window displays, and we had lunch at the Walnut Room, where we were entertained by the Christmas Fairies, including the Fairy Queen!
We've spent lots of time cuddling with new Baby David, Dave and Aubrey's cute newbie.
Marion turned TWO on December 14th. We enjoyed watching her open presents, eat cupcakes and show general excitement about being "a big kid."
Charlotte got a tidy, short haircut. We are loving it because it's easy to wash and keep clean. She's loving it because it doesn't TANGLE!
We spent a Saturday at Discovery World for a special Christmas family event:
There was a rustic little train that the kids could ride,
an extremely intricate, detailed train display,
Santa Claus, whom the big kids were thrilled to see while the little kids hid behind us,
a cookie decorating workshop,
an impressive, huge Lego display that took up a whole banquet hall,
a real excavator you could control,
and visiting sled dogs to pet and take pictures with! They were going to give sled dog rides but the lack of snow forced a change of plans. It was still a lot of fun to feed them treats and learn about their different jobs.
We also made a green screen video at Discovery World. Enjoy!
We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and that your 2016 is awesome :)
